Volunteering

EYF runs on parent power. Here’s how we handle volunteer deposits, signups, and the most common roles on game day. If you’re new, start here.

Refundable Deposit

How the deposit works

All registrants pay a $40 refundable family deposit. You’ll get it back at the end of the season when your family meets the volunteer requirement:

  • Three shifts per family during the season
  • Six shifts for scholarship recipients

Can’t make it work with your schedule? Reach out. We’ll help you find options that fit your family.

Signups

How we schedule volunteers

We use a dedicated TeamSnap group named Volunteers. Every family is added. Inside TeamSnap you’ll see sign up sheets with time slots for each game day task.

Pro Tip

The easiest way to get your shifts and still watch your child play is to volunteer during another team’s game. On most Saturdays we host D, C, and B games back to back, so pick a slot during a different team’s kickoff.

Common Volunteer Roles

Snack Bar

At home games we need three to four volunteers for each game and a short pre-game setup. You’ll take orders, handle payments, and serve food, drinks, and snacks. The War Memorial Association handles cooking and can answer questions.

Chain Gang

This is one of the most important jobs on game day. We need three volunteers for every game. Report to the visitors’ sideline before kickoff. Refs will direct when to move the markers. It’s a favorite because you get a front-row seat.

Gate Table

Greet fans inside the gate. You may sell spirit wear, collect donations, hand out items, or help with simple game-day tasks. It’s social, quick to learn, and keeps the crowd moving.

Parade

Each September we march in the Ephrata Fair Parade. We need help preparing the float, sorting candy, and walking with the players. Details go out in late August.

Clean Up

After the last game, help check the stands and sidelines for trash, empty cans, check bathrooms, and return yard markers. It goes fast with more hands and keeps War Memorial Field in great shape.
